In mid-November last year, the 36m motoryacht ‘Secret Love’, built in 1990 at Amels, entered our 80m shed for an extensive list of works.
Having been in the same ownership for more than 10 years, the vessel is a family favourite that has always been immaculately maintained. However, her exterior paint work was beginning to show signs of age and it was decided to undertake a number of upgrades to the engineering systems while she was laid up for her complete paint job. The overhaul of the engine room, which includes replacing the generators, A/C chiller system, waste treatment plant, new hot water boilers and upgrades to the stabilisation system has allowed access to recesses which have been unreachable since her build. As a result, the engine room will also be repainted and all pumps, main engines as well as electric systems – including a new shore power converter – will be serviced.
Outside, in addition to the new paint work to hull and superstructure, teak decks will be replaced and exterior guest areas will be upgraded. On the inside, the major bridge electronics will be changed for new and the lighting system will be replaced with LED.
On schedule to be relaunched in early April, she will be redelivered in May 2020.
