‘Dunya’ – the Turkish word for ‘world’, perfectly encapsulates our philosophy and global outlook.
We build yachts that allow our clients to see and enjoy the world, and in doing so we work with the best designers, craftsmen, engineers and naval architects from all over the globe. Our focus is sharp, dedicated to making only the best superyachts, and our reach is broad, as our yachts and those we work with spread to all corners of the world.

Our passion for building, managing a project from early discussions to final delivery, and our dedication to exceeding expectations, ensures our customers always leave delighted with the experience and the yacht they receive.
OUR STORY
The waterfront site where the current shipyard sits has been in the Ergun family since the 1950’s. Originally the setting of their holiday home, the family took the opportunity to develop it into the Ursa Shipyard in 1983 after the area was rezoned in a government move to shift the growing commercial shipping industry out of the city centre.
In 2005, the current President, Sedat Ergun, took over the reins of the company and transformed the shipyard into the advanced technology facility it is today, dedicated to the construction and refit of the world’s finest superyachts. At the same time a new brand, Dunya Yachts, was born to compete with leading northern European shipyards in the construction of large yachts. Since modernisation, the yard has completed the build of the universally acclaimed 73m yacht Axioma and over the
last 10 years established itself as the centre for refits for large yachts in Turkey with works completed to more than 25 yachts up to 72m in length.
About the Founder: Sedat Ergun is the founder, owner and president of Dunya Yachts. Born in Turkey, he spent most of his formative years studying in the US.
After completing his education, he spent time working as a project manager at a large construction company specialising in enterprise resource planning before returning to Turkey in 2005, where he applied his experience to yacht building. He was the driving force behind the multi-award-winning 73m Dunya Yachts built Axioma, widely acknowledged as the finest yacht to ever come out of Turkey.

Dunya and Hydro Tec announce exclusive partnership for the Valiant concept. Valiant is an 80m design with an exterior design that combines naval and automotive inspiration and an interior that merges Japanese and Scandinavian styles.
May, 2025 -Dunya attend the Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit hosted by our friends at Superyacht Times. It was an extremely well run event with great topics and networking.
May, 2025 -Dunya's Sales & Marketing Director, Tim Kershaw, speaks on two panels at the Superyacht Investors Conference in London. It was a fantastic event with many interesting topics covered.
March, 2025 - Dunya attends with Palm Beach International Boat Show with King Benji yet again being one of the stars of the show.
February 2025 - King Benji wins the award for Best Interior Design - Motor Yachts, 499GT and below, 40m and above. We are very proud of the award and congratulate all of our partners involved in this project.
December, 2024 - Dunya Yachts announced as a sponsor for the 2025 Boat International Superyacht Design Festival. As a leader in superyacht design and innovation this is a top event for our shipyard to sponsor.
October, 2024 - Dunya Yachts and King Benji go to the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. King Benji was the talk of the show with a large volume of people having a tour during the week.
October, 2024 - Dunya Yachts attends the first ever Qatar Boat Show. It was a very well run show and we enjoyed catching up with many clients there.
September, 2024 - King Benji takes centre stage at the Monaco Yacht Show. The yacht was fully booked for tours as the word quickly spread around the show that this was the yacht to see. It was great to host all of our clients and partners onboard and showcase this beautiful explorer yacht to the world.
May, 2024 - Dunya Yachts sponsors the World Superyacht Award and presents one of the awards. Yet again, this was a fantastic event and we thoroughly enjoyed showcasing our shipyard to the room and catching up with all of our friends and colleagues.
March, 2024 - King Benji was christened at the Monaco Yacht Club in the presence of the New York Explorers Club. A large amount of the world’s greatest explorers attended the event including the likes of Victor Vescovo.
